Local concert promoter Other Sounds presents Mediterranean psychedelic rock ’n’ roll band Acid Baby Jesus live in Singapore this November. And we are giving away a pair of tickets!
“If the ancient Greeks had invented psychrock up there on Mount Olympus, the gods would’ve found this stuff pretty far out.” – Slug Magazine
The Greek rockers will be performing at Lucky Plaza on the 4th of November, as part of the event's three show series titled, "Sleepwalker". Not to be dismissed beside the coma-inducing Ayam Penyet the shopping haven for Filipinos also serves, this event is going to be a riproaring psych fest.
Formed in Athens, 2009, Acid Baby Jesus hones a heavy psychedelic rock’n’roll sound influenced equally by the Western World’s lysergic pop past and Greece’s complex folk history. It's gritty stuff altogether, riffed on the spooky and heavy reverbs of psych rock that channels, if we may, another part of the wolrd that has seen a resurgence of its anythinggoes genre: California.
Fans of Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, and even Oakland surf punks SWMRS can expect the same musical mayhem scratchy guitars, fuzzy noise, and cloggedtotheears lyrics. It's rock, it's punk, and it's going be one hell of a good fun. (And if you're hungry, there's always fried chicken later).
Now let us blow your mind away with those free tickets. To stand a chance to win, simply follow us on Instagram and tag a friend you would like to dance out with. We'll announce the winner Friday 23 October.
Meanwhile, check out Acid Baby Jesus’ band camp page here and listen to their 2014 LP Selected Recordings.
